After my lovely mare, Curly, was returned from being leased, she was starved, scared, skinny and traumatized. She was more than a handful with everything she had been through in the leases, and needed some serious re-training and feeding up, in a happy, safe environment that she could rehab in. Being overseas, I looked around but a lot of people wanted to charge me ridiculous amounts of money to h...ave her in full work/training (in prep to very sadly be sold), and it was just too expensive on top of all the feed I had to pay for to get her weight back up, as well as paying for my other horse in America with me. It was all very stressful and worrying – until I found Chrissy. Chrissy offered to take Curly on for a very reasonable price, and have her in full work until sold. She was very professional, understanding and kind about the whole situation. She looked after Curly in the way we had asked, and gave us honest, daily updates on her progress – and never once complained or pushed us to hurry up and find her a home. To say Curly was difficult in the beginning would be an understatement, but Chrissy handled everything maturely and professionally and fixed every problem that poor Curly had. Within a few weeks, it was clear that Curly was a different horse. She was on the road back to being her normal self, and the things Chrissy had managed to do with her in the short amount of time were very impressive. After a couple of months, Chrissy purchased Curly. I could not have been happier with this, knowing that she was finally in the best home we could possibly want for her. Curly’s progress continued to fly with Chrissy, she just seemed to get better and better everyday. Chrissy really blew me away with how quickly she got to know Curly, and how well she fixed all of her problems (in a kind way that was never forceful) and how well she adjusted to riding her. After a few months of owning Curly, Chrissy and Curly competed their first prelim event together (keeping in mind that Curly has only ever done two intros before) and I was very happy with how well they did. They also came 5th in a big group at a dressage competition in their 1B test! In the short amount of time that she has owned Curly, and after all the problems that Curly had when she came to Chrissy, it just goes to show how incredibly hard working she is and also how good of a rider she is. I could not be happier for Curly and the incredible home she is in now – I never have to worry about her, and I know that she is getting the care and love she deserves, with the rider that will take her to the top and release her full potential. I have seen the way Chrissy has ridden other, very difficult horses that come in to her care for training and re-selling, and I have never seen them look better or respond better under saddle. Friends of mine also always tell me how great Curly looks when they see her out, and I often get "Curly has never looked better!". I can honestly vouch for Chrissy – she’s incredible on a horse and will give you the absolute best run for your money no matter the situation, as well as getting the absolute best out of your horse.
